The younger son took his inheritance, went to the city and within no time, he had spent it all on women and parties. His older brother stayed with his father and worked hard on the farm. Suddenly the junger one showed up hungry and in rags feeling very sorry. The waiting father welcomed him with open arms and kissed him. They slaughtered a calf, gave him new clothes, shoes and a ring of reconciliation. There was music to celebrate. 

Tired from the day’s hard work on the field, the older brother came home. He heard the music, learned about the party, totally lost it and criticised his dad severely. The dad responded: “My son, your brother was lost and now he came home. Come, let’s celebrate.”

Conclusion: Both brothers misbehaved. God invites them to the same table. Each one can choose if he wants to participate or not. The one who refuses God’s offer will be separated from him in eternity.
