God at the bottom of the sea
21. July. 24

Based on a true story:

When a diver tried to wade forward during his routine work on the seabed, he was astonished. He saw something very strange. A mussel had wedged a scrap of paper between the shells.

Curious, he carefully removed the wet piece from the two shells. When he held it a little closer to his diving goggles, he could recognise a text. He tried to read it:

For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.’ Mark 10:45

‘For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.’

Mark 10:45

This Bible verse hit him right in the heart. He encountered God’s love while working at the bottom of the sea. God used an oyster to remind him of his mercy. Even today, the shells of the oyster bear witness to that special encounter. This Bible verse changed the diver’s life.

Perhaps this story is like the paper that was wedged between the shells of the oyster.

God is asking you today: ‘What are you doing with my offer?’
