He was engaged to Mary. His fianc\u00e9e traveled to visit her relatives for three months. When she returned, Joseph realized that she was pregnant. What a shock, his fianc\u00e9e had cheated on him!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Joseph wanted to save Mary from the death penalty for adultery, as they were already considered a couple. He wanted to leave her secretly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em><em>Then an angel appeared to Joseph and said: \u2018Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife!\u2019<\/em><\/em><\/p>\n<cite><em><em>Matthew 1:20<\/em><\/em><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>How much courage, strength and trust in God this Joseph had! Instead of thinking of himself and his reputation, he trusted God. He accepted God&#8217;s plan for him, Mary and this unborn child.
