Is Everything Meaningless?
25. May. 25

The great King Solomon shares his realizations about the transience of life. Despite his power and his riches, he comes to this shocking conclusion:

Everything is meaningless.

Ecclesiastes 1:2

He recognizes the hopelessness of the human craving for more as only superficial relationships or material successes. Ultimately, he asks the question: “What is the meaning of life?”

Solomon gives a clear answer at the end of his book:

Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind.

Ecclesiastes 12:13

While striving for worldly things only provides short-term joy, seeking God is a source of deep fulfillment. God made us, loves us, and knows our true needs. He offers us a purpose that goes beyond ordinary daily life.

When we love God, we discover the true fulfillment and meaning of life.

What could change in your life if you were to seriously grapple with this search for meaning?
